Recent studies have detected a growing trend of using video to report the news in cybermedia. Despite video has become an important element for digital press; theses studies reveal that in the Spanish case only 1 out of 3 of videos are produced exclusively for the web. The vast majority of the videos broadcasted online come from press agencies.
Therefore, it is necessary to analyse these video-news produced by the media to determine which are their features and check if these have truly become a key element in the redefinition of the business model of mass media, or even contribute to the regeneration of the engagement between media and audience.
This research project analyses the trend followed by the Spanish cybermedia by studying different Spanish media, both online versions of hardcopy newspapers and pure players.
The aim of this project is to determine which are the characteristics of these video-news and the impact they generate in the readers.
